Badminton Horse Trials 2024
Badminton Horse Trials 2024 marks the 75 year anniversary since the popular horse event first started. The horse event in the UK has tested both horse and rider each year and this year is no different.
Competitors participate in all three phases; dressage, showjumping and cross country. Each day offers a chance to watch a brilliant display of horsemanship.
When is Badminton Horse Trials?
Starting on Wednesday 8th May and finishing on Sunday 12th May, Badminton Horse Trials 2024 runs across all five days. Wednesday starts with the Voltaire Design Grassroots Championships and the first horse inspection.
Dressage starts the five star horse event off on both Thursday and Friday. However, the real highlight across the week is the five star cross country on the Saturday. The showjumping brings the event to a close on the Sunday, where the top 20 competitors are presented with prizes.
You must buy tickets in advance this year. You have the option to watch all of the events or you can book to watch your favourites. As well as having over 500 trade stands, you are sure to get some retail therapy in.

Training to be at top performance.
Horses and riders have to be at top performance when it comes to competing at major horse events, such as Badminton Horse Trials. You will find the top event riders use quality arena surfaces to help support their training for across all three phases of the competition.
How to Choose the Right Surface for Your Training
When it comes to training your horse, choosing the right arena surface to ride on is crucial on your horse’s well-being. Even though training may be different for showjumping compared to dressage the needs for the horse stay the same.
Injury prevention, especially in the run up to a horse event, is important to the confidence and performance of your horse. Having the right surface such as one that has shock absorption, reduces the strain on your horse’s joints.
By having the right surface and consistent footing for your horse, can also further muscle development and balance. Our dual-stabilser fibre provides cushioning and secure footing, enhancing your horses performance in the arena.
Training on the right surface makes sessions more consistent and productive. A happy and willing horse can give you the upper hand when it comes to competing
